Cuglieri Excursions offers guided walks and experiential tours through the Montiferru region, one of Sardinia’s most untouched and culturally rich areas. With a certified hiking guide, a strong local network, and a background in documentary photography, we create meaningful outdoor experiences for travellers who value authenticity, nature and slow travel.

Our excursions range from half-day walks to full thematic journeys that combine nature, history, food traditions and craft. Whether you’re exploring forest paths, volcanic cliffs, ancient ruins or coastal viewpoints, each tour is designed to offer you both knowledge and sensory immersion. Small groups, personal attention and a calm rhythm ensure that you can truly connect with the landscape.

Sustainability is at the core of what we do: we produce our own solar energy, use an electric vehicle for transport, and choose eco-friendly equipment whenever possible. Our mission is to help visitors experience Sardinia responsibly, while supporting local artisans, farmers and communities.

Serruggiu

This is an easy walk on old wagon trails and passages through private olive- and cork groves. On our way, we'll visit the hidden prehistoric burial caves Serruggiu and Pittudi, pass by the beautiful phonolitic columns of Pala de Calchera, and try the water of the natural spring Tiu Memmere. The walk suits the whole family.

Casteddu Etzu

This is a beautiful walk on old wagon trails and passages through private olive- and cork groves. On our way, we'll visit the hidden prehistoric burial caves Serruggiu and Pittudi, pass by the beautiful phonolithic columns of Pala de Calchera, and reach the mythical old fortress Casteddu Etzu with its breath taking panorama view over Montiferru and the valley. On our way back we'll refresh ourselves at the natural spring Tiu Memmere.

S’Istrampu e’ Massabari

This excursion that will take you deep into the montiferru massive. We'll follow old wagon and hunter trails with the river as a company. Our goal is the beautiful waterfall S’Istrampu e’Massabari. On our way back we'll pass under the phonolithic columns of Pala de Galchera.and make a stop the natural spring Tiu Memmere.

Corchinas

In this excursion, we'll search traces of the Carthaginian and later Roman colony in the hills behind S'Archittu. It's a beautiful walk in the Mediterranean moorland, filled with history, and if we're lucky we'll also see wild tortoises.

Montiferru

This excursion will take you through the deep woods of Montiferru, passing by remains of old pinettas and water systems, up on the plateau of the massive, where we'll visit the abandoned aviary used for the insertion of griffons. Be prepared for breathtaking views! We'll also visit the beautiful waterfalls of Istrampu e Massabari.

Capo Nieddu

This is an excursion along the dramatic volcanic coastline of Cuglieri. On our way we'll see two beautiful waterfalls, one having its outfall directly in the sea, we'll also be able to see Sardinia’s own "Giants Causeway", made of basalt columns, from above, and visit one of the coastlines defense towers from the Spanish era.

Columbargia

This excursion takes you along the fantastic coastline of Tresnuraghes, unaccessible by car, and filled with geologic, biological, and historical wanders. We'll pass by several hidden beaches and three defense towers from the Spanish era.

Sos Pupos

This excursion will take you to the moon and back, at least it will feel like that! The trachytic coastline north of Bosa has been sculptured by the sea in the most artistic ways. We’ll start at the harbor of Bosa and walk along the coast to the site of Sos Pupos.

Capo San Marco

This beautiful “peninsula” divides the living sea from the still sea in Oristano Bay. Here lies the important merchant city of Tharros, and you can easily see the strategic advantage of the site. We’ll stroll throw the low vegetation and enjoy old defence towers, an astonishing lighthouse, and old tombs cut directly into the rock. Afterward, I recommend a visit to the archeological site.
